NEGATIVE STARS! DO NOT GO HERE!!! All of the negative reviews are true. My 3 kids and I went there for a fun afternoon and found very quickly that the older man/owner was very rude. He was hesitant to change the sizes of my kids shoes after we had asked for a wrong size. I thought my son was stuck bowling in shoes that were 2 sizes too big!?! Then he watched us like a hawk every ball we bowled making sure we knew every time we lobbed the ball too much!!? Very uncomfortable and VERY dirty/run down. My kids were able to laugh at the situation but we all ran up the stairs and out of there as fast as we could after one EXPENSIVE game.
After reading all the negative reviews, I was hesitant to take my nieces and nephews to Riverside Bowl. However, I was pleased to find that none of the negative comments applied to our visit there. The lady working the counter was friendly and helpful, the place was clean, and we had a great time there. The only downside was that the washrooms were under repair, but the lady at the counter warned us of that beforehand, so we could plan accordingly. Overall, a terrific experience, and I'm sure we'll be back.
Really wish you could do negative stars for this place!! That older guy when you walk down the stairs into his lame bowling alley...get out of the basement and get outside man. Start treating people with some respect!! Wont be surprised when this place closes the door. I dont support it and neither should you. Go check out heritage lanes. Dont waste your time supporting that grumpy prick. Even my 4 year noticed what a dick he was to us. Negative one million stars for this joint ;)
Customer service is a huge part of my job so I am fairly understanding when it comes to relations between customers and staff. That being said I have never experienced such bad service ever. The old couple working were unnecessarily rude, couldn't be bothered to show an ounce of friendliness. I would not recommend this establishment to anybody. Save yourself the trouble and go to Heritage lanes on the north end. Way better environment and staff who actually appreciate your business. Google makes you pick a star rating to post. In my opinion this establishment isn't worth the 1 star I had to give it in order for my review to be seen. Solid 0/5.
Old school bowling alley. Dont come here for the ambience. I bowl regularly at Heritage Lanes, which is a modern entertainment centre. But I also like Riverside because I like bowling on wooden lanes, as opposed to the newer acrylic finish at Heritage. The owner is an old school bowler, pretty obviously an introvert, and likely has little patience for fools. His lanes are well kept and the place overall is well-maintained. Prices are on par with every bowling establishment Ive been to in Alberta. The beer is cold. I just go there to bowl. Im not looking for some earth-shattering entertainment experience. Its bowling, after all.
