I have stayed here a couple of times and would stay again. The hotel is very clean, rooms are clean, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Location is good, although most places in red deer you really need a car to get around. The Moxy's attached has good food and good drinks with great staff as well.
Amazingly friendly people. Staff always looking to serve . Friendly , courteous and professional. Location is central. Rooms are clean. I have start at the Hyatt severally... I can tell the Sandman is value for money. I highly recommend.
BAD>I brought $70 worth of Smoked Salmon with me from BC, for friends so I requested a fridge, I didn't get one till day 2. Yes the front desk offered to put it in their staff fridge for the first night, I left it at my friends the first night because I didn't want to leave it in a fridge that strangers would pry. I put my Smoked Salmon from BC inside the fridge the second day and went out. Came back that evening just to find that the fridge did not work :( so that was 2 days in total my salmon was not refrigerated so it all went bad. Really not impressed about any of this.Also Moxies, which is a part of that hotel put a billing onto my room that I did not charge. The front desk kept us for way too long trying to figure it out. They did not rectify the issue till days later, leaving us feeling unsettled thinking they add charges onto customers rooms hoping no one notices. And when we do notice, its an issue to resolve. NOT IMPRESSED.
Had an enjoyable overnight stay on a discount deal in a trip to Sylvan lake. Accessible location central to the city, main highways and nearby towns, plus a Moxie's restaurant attached. Had a very quick and efficient early check-in and check-out. The staff are friendly and easy to find. Amenities are nice for that star of a hotel - little things like soaps and variety tea/coffee were a good touch! Recommend!
My room sinks like a rig rat lived in the room. There wasn't any hot water this morning, and they don't have enough hot water capacity for the rooms, they have. I travel for work, and I don't recall every staying in such a crappy room. The staff are embarrassed, for everyone I talk to have said they didn't have hot water. This really throws a good conference in the crapper! I will never stay in another Sandman, or let any of my staff to do so either. I will discuss this with AUMA executive.
