This is the best Vet Clinic there is in Red Deer there is no better help or no better people. They are so caring! Pat Higgins has been our vet for a very long time and always knows what to say and what to do at all times thank you for helping us get through to of our great dogs passing away.One of our cats have just had dental surgery and this Clinic was so good such great care never overcharge and they're always fair with everything that happensOur family would highly recommend this place to anybody there is no other veterinarian clinic to go to!
Took my cat to be euthanized by Dr. Dixon. She couldn't find a vein so had tech come in and try 2 other legs and blew the veins. My cat was very distressed at this point, I told Dr. Dixon I didn't want her to go out kicking and screaming so she then gave her a tranquilizer and took her to the back. My cat came back with the original leg with the catheter in, after going through that whole ordeal and the time it took I felt so awful for my little girl. So disappointed as I had better service from my regular doctor there. He wasn't available so I had to go with Dr. Dixon. It was a very distressing situation for me and my cat and took way to long. I talked to the manager the next day as I was still upset on how it was handled. Didn't get much of a response, didn't even offer a refund for that disaster. So now all I have is the memory of that horrible ordeal and putting her through that. Something that should take 20 minutes took 45 minutes. Sickening.
Our family has three dogs of various ages and there seems to be a concern of one kind or another with one of them on a regular basis. We were told of Deer Park Pet Hospital a number of years ago and, being new to the area, decided to give this facility a try. We felt that we made the right choice immediately. Over the years, we have found the reception staff to be kind, understanding and full of compassion. They try to accommodate our needs as best as possible, even on short notice, and always do so in a caring manner.Our experiences and interactions with Dr. Higgins have been over the top. Our time with him has been informative, insightful and we seem to learn something new every time we are in the office. With the depth of experience that Dr. Higgins possesses, he projects an air of true concern for his patients and a gentle manner with them which relaxes the dogs as soon as hes in the examination roomit relaxes the owners as well! Our pets have had joint problems, dental problems, eye problems, allergies and a host of other conditions requiring veterinary care. We have never left the hospital uncertain as to whether our dogs were on the road to recovery or not. We have always felt that Dr. Higgins provides us with the information we need, and our dogs with the care they need at a more than reasonable price. We do believe our dogs are being treated by one of the best in the business. We cannot express our high regard and appreciation enough and extend many thanks to Dr. Higgins and his crew at Deer Park Pet Hospital. Highly recommended.
Saved the dog despite very long odds. This was a completely different outcome to what I expected. Managed to make something out of nothing.They will do all they can to save your pet. That includes financing options if the timing isn't good or you can't get help elsewhere.Also it must be said they were up front with the diagnosis. No meandering about the issue. To the point so that an informed decision can be made. Much appreciated.All the staff were willing to accommodate our needs. You won't be doing wrong by your pet by going here. They take all the other critters too.Going to endorse them fully.
I have been taking my pets here for 16 years the staff is absolutely amazing. Whether its for routine exams or emergency surgery they have been wonderful!!!! Dr. Higgins is fantastic!!! I wont go anywhere else my pets both dogs & cats are taken care of and loved when they come here :)
